Pakistani left-arm fast bowler and former captain got angry with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as they appointed Babar Azam as a new captain. Babar Azam will remain captain for the upcoming New Zealand series and T20 World Cup 2024.
During training with the Pakistani Army in Kakul, PCB talks with Babar Azam about the new captain of PCT. Babar Azam agreed to become captain but it limited some points to PCB which was accepted. Shaheen Shah Afridi remains shocked when he listens to Babar Azam become the new captain. He asked PCB to give a reason why he was removed from captaincy and what was his mistake. PCB remained silent and he stopped Shaheen Afridi from stating this issue.

When did Shaheen Afridi become Captain?
Last year when the former Chairman of PCB, Zaka Ashraf removed Babar Azam from captaincy of all formats Shaheen Afridi was appointed as a new captain. But he did not perform well in his last T20 series against New Zealand as they won 4-1 in his home ground. Now 5 T20 matches are scheduled in Pindi Cricket Stadium and Gaddafi Stadium Lahore.
Why was Shaheen Afridi removed?
Shaheen Shah Afridi was removed because of his poor captaincy in PSL and the T20 series against New Zealand. PCB did not want to take risks in the upcoming tournament. They wanted to prepare Babar Azam for the World Cup, which will benefit him when he plays against New Zealand.
